Science- Light and Shadow










Today we discussed:
-sundials
-North, South, East, West
-tested our sundials for 30 mins 

Observations:
Lex: The shadow didn't really move too much. 
Lily: It only moved a little bit each minute. 
Zeinab: The shadow only moved when the time went by and when the clouds covered the sun, the shadows went lighter. 
Alex L: the time only moved when the sun moved. 
Sajida: my line from 0 to 5 minutes was skinnier than the the line from 15 to 30 minutes. 
Kyla: Our clock was not accurate because if we actually did 30 minutes, the minute hand would be on the 6. 
Linkin: We need to change the size of the clock because the farther out something goes, at the end, it goes faster than the middle.

Good Afternoon Keeler Families, Safety Precautions at Keeler School The safety of all students and staff at Keeler School is of great importance. As such, we have established appropriate safety measures for the various situations that may occur and affect our staff and students. Fire drills are a long-standing expectation of everyone who congregates in a setting such as a school. We are required to have a minimum of six fire drills each school year. Teachers keep class lists with them during all drills and attendance is always taken. Parents or other visitors are expected to evacuate the building when the fire alarm is sounded. It is a reflection of the changes in our society that we must add variations to our safety drills. Today, February 25, 2020 we practiced a drill known as a "lockdown". Dear Keeler Families,  Our principal Kenny Yeung sent out a principal’s message via school messenger last week.  The message will go directly to your email (Please contact Ms. Woznow in the office if you have changed your email address after submitting your demographic verification form at the end of August).  As mentioned in our previous post, the school is committing to a communication plan to ensure parents are connected to the school and their childs’ learning.
