Learning Conversations Cancelled

Dear Parents & Guardians,

Based on the changing provincial and local response to COVID-19, the CBE has given us direction to postpone our Learning Conversations (Student-Parent-Teacher conferences) scheduled for March 19th, 2020. In addition, ALL after school programs including Philkids, Reading & Running, YMCA, Teen Mentors and Mosiac club will be cancelled until further notice.

All CBE schools have been given direction to postpone or cancel events that include populations from other schools and/or parents or other community members, such as Parent-Teacher Interviews, celebrations of learning, drama/musical performances, dances, athletic competitions, etc. This decision is effective from Mar. 12 until the end of March break. This decision will be revisited during March break to determine whether events should be rescheduled.

Events outside of school hours that include the regular student and staff population of the school (school clubs, practices, etc) and scheduled field trips may continue at this time.  

I know this may be disappointing news. Students and staff have spent a significant amount of time preparing for this event, but the health of our community is our priority.

Good Afternoon Keeler Families, Safety Precautions at Keeler School The safety of all students and staff at Keeler School is of great importance. As such, we have established appropriate safety measures for the various situations that may occur and affect our staff and students. Dear Keeler Families,  Our principal Kenny Yeung sent out a principal’s message via school messenger last week.  The message will go directly to your email (Please contact Ms. Woznow in the office if you have changed your email address after submitting your demographic verification form at the end of August).  As mentioned in our previous post, the school is committing to a communication plan to ensure parents are connected to the school and their childs’ learning. Mr. Yeung will be sending out weekly messages via   school messenger . Messages will include school wide important dates and reminders, as well as, resources, system/school updates and anything that will keep our community informed (No messages involving sales or promotion of any products or services will be in these messages). Cookie dough pickup is tomorrow between 3 and 5 and any cookie dough not picked up will be left unrefrigerated until a pick up can be arranged.
