Online Resources
In order to provide continuity of delivery of educational programming across Alberta, we (CBE) as a system is working on long term delivery of programming. We will be providing system wide messaging for families prior to the break. In the meantime, here is a list of sites that can help your student continue practicing what we have been learning in class.
- Math Prodigy https://play.prodigygame.com/: Each student has their own account and the math questions are leveled to the student’s ability. It is a quest game that they need to complete math questions to get further in the game.
- Times Tables https://www.timestables.com/: With our times tables check in, we have been making an effort of learning our multiplication facts up to the 9 times tables to be able to use that knowledge when doing multiplication and division problems. This website allows students to practice their multiplication facts in a variety of different ways.
- Dreamscape: https://www.squigglepark.com/dreamscape/: Similar to Math Prodigy, but the focus is reading. Each student should have an account.
- Writing Prompts http://www.pobble365.com/: This website has a variety of different images that students can write a story or a short text based on the image.
- Calgary Public Library https://calgarylibrary.ca/read-learn-and-explore/in-library/ebooks-and-audiobooks/: The libraries might be closed but you can still access Ebooks and Audiobooks.
- Zooming in…Alberta’s Regionshttp://www.learnalberta.ca/content/sszi/en/index.html : This is a good interactive site for students to get basic knowledge of the regions of Alberta.
- Bill Nye Light and Colour https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g5BHxozBPuA : We have been learning about light and shadow in science recently. We have watched the Bill Nye video in class but this is a good refresher for vocabulary words.
- GoNoodle https://www.gonoodle.com/ : A good website for kids to get their jitters out
- Cosmic Kids Yoga https://www.youtube.com/user/CosmicKidsYoga : Students can practice mindfulness and yoga moves to help them calm down
If you need your student’s login information for Math Prodigy, Dreamscape, or Gmail please send me a message on ClassDojo!
