After two weeks of designing, building, testing and adjusting, students are reflecting on their machines. 

Was it a success? Why or why not? 
What changes did you make from your original plan? 
Did you use other items which were not in the original plan? 
What would you change about your machine?
What part(s) worked well?
Did you need a pulley-system? 
Which science terms (eg. gravity, force, fulcrum, gear, pulley) would you use to label your improved plan?

Good Afternoon Keeler Families, Safety Precautions at Keeler School The safety of all students and staff at Keeler School is of great importance. As such, we have established appropriate safety measures for the various situations that may occur and affect our staff and students. Fire drills are a long-standing expectation of everyone who congregates in a setting such as a school. We are required to have a minimum of six fire drills each school year. Teachers keep class lists with them during all drills and attendance is always taken. Parents or other visitors are expected to evacuate the building when the fire alarm is sounded. Dear Keeler Families,  Our principal Kenny Yeung sent out a principal’s message via school messenger last week.  The message will go directly to your email (Please contact Ms. Woznow in the office if you have changed your email address after submitting your demographic verification form at the end of August).  As mentioned in our previous post, the school is committing to a communication plan to ensure parents are connected to the school and their childs’ learning. Dear Keeler Families, Assessment Earlier in the week my message talked about our assessment calibration. In today's message I will address our Report Card Achievement Indicator Changes. In K-9, the achievement indicators (Excellent-4, Good-3, Basic-2, Not Meeting-1) signify the extent to which a student has demonstrated achievement of the Alberta Programs of Study outcomes organized into report card stems. Report card stems are categories used to organize the Alberta Programs of Study outcomes. Please see below for a breakdown of each descriptor: 1- Not Meeting 2- Basic 3- Good 4- Excellent Key Changes: Descriptor 1 – shift from “not meeting” to “beginning” Descriptors 1 and 2 will involve necessary adjustments to teacher planning and instruction.
