Dear Keeler parents and/or guardians,

Just wanted to let our families know that that the 2020 Accountability Pillar surveys are now open and that the parent surveys will be mailed out this week.  If you require a survey for a specific language translation, please contact Mr. Bane (ndbane@cbe.ab.ca).  The survey is open from January 13th, 2020 to February 28th, 2020.

The Alberta government has a system for school authorities to consistently measure success and progress, called the Accountability Pillar. The Accountability Pillar uses 16 measures that show communities how schools and school authorities are performing each year. Schools and school authorities use the results to identify areas for improvement and to help build their education plans.  This system helps the province, school authorities and schools track successes and improve the quality of education for students. It also helps build a more transparent K to 12 education system, focused on constantly improving across the province.

In addition, this will be the first reminder of many to come that on March 19th, 2020 is our second Learning Conversation (Student-Parent-Teacher Conferences) from 1-8pm. Our original school calender indicated that it was a regular school day which was incorrect.  March 19th, 2020 will be a early dismissal day at 12:09pm.  Information on booking will be sent in March.

March 12 th , 2020 Dear Parents & Guardians, Based on the changing provincial and local response to COVID-19, the CBE has given us direction to postpone our Learning Conversations (Student-Parent-Teacher conferences) scheduled for March 19 th , 2020 . In addition, ALL after school programs including Philkids, Reading & Running, YMCA, Teen Mentors and Mosiac club will be cancelled until further notice . All CBE schools have been given direction to postpone or cancel events that include populations from other schools and/or parents or other community members, such as Parent-Teacher Interviews, celebrations of learning, drama/musical performances, dances, athletic competitions, etc. This decision is effective from Mar. 12 until the end of March break. This decision will be revisited during March break to determine whether events should be rescheduled. Good Afternoon Keeler Families, With the on going circumstances around COVID-19, the Calgary Board of Education has decided to release student report cards online through the MyCBE PowerSchool account. Paper copies will no longer be provided to families. We are reaching out to ensure that our families have created a MyCBE PowerSchool account so they can access their student’s report cards. If you have not created a PowerSchool account for your child please follow the instructions attached below or call the office at 403-777-8180 during office hours.
