Rube Goldberg Machines

Science Students have now designed their Rube Goldberg machines and are constructing their machines using recyclable materials, following their plans as accurately as possible. Over the next few days, there will be plenty of trial and error, as well as reflection and alterations to their plans.

Canadian Shield Region-Plants

Social  Studies E xploring the Canadian Shield Region and taking a close look at the plants in that area. Students had the opportunity to observe the plant life around Keeler through tree and leaf rubbings.
Cookie dough pickup is tomorrow between 3 and 5 and any cookie dough not picked up will be left unrefrigerated until a pick up can be arranged.

Science Students are exploring Rube Goldberg machines, as part of the Wheels and Levers unit. Students are currently in the process of designing their individual machines. 

Limerick Poems

Literacy This week students are exploring Limerick poems.  Limerick poems consists of five lines, following an AABBA pattern. 

Haiku Poems

In Literacy, students are exploring various styles of poem writing. This past week, students have been creating traditional Japanese poems (Haiku), linking aspects of it with music (syllable counting, beat).  A Haiku consists of 17 syllables in three phrases of 5, 7, 5.
